OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OF WORLD WAY AT TERMINAL 3 FOR INSTALLATION OF PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

From Saturday, Jan. 15 to Friday, Jan. 21 and Sunday, Jan. 23 to Monday, Jan. 24, both the Upper/Departures and Lower/Arrivals levels of World Way will be closed at Terminal 3 for varying times between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. These closures will be in place to facilitate construction of the pedestrian bridge connecting the future West Central Terminal Area Automated People Mover station to the Terminal 3 vertical core. During the full closures, vehicles will utilize established detours to route around the closures, access the terminals and exit the Airport via World Way South. See below for date-specific impacts.

Upper/Departures Level closures (map 1) will take place between midnight and 4 a.m. Traffic to Terminals 5, 6, 7 and 8 will follow the southbound West Way detour. In order to access the Tom Bradley International Terminal and Terminal 4, motorists will use the established detour that begins at Terminal 3 to Parking Structure 4. On Sunday, Jan 16. and Monday, Jan. 17, traffic on the Upper/Departures Level roadway will be stopped for 30 minutes to install a section of the bridge over the roadway. Vehicles may use the Lower/Arrivals Level inner lane to bypass the closure. Please watch for posted signage, prepare to follow all detour routes during the Upper/Departures Level closure and use caution when traveling through the area.

Lower/Arrivals Level (map 2) closures will occur from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic will follow detour signage to route along World Way North’s innermost lane or via West Way to access the southern terminals to route around the closure.

11 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Lower World Way full closure (all traffic pushed to single inner lane or West Way detour)
Midnight to 6 a.m.: Upper World Way lane closures (all traffic will be held for 30 minutes around 1 to 1:30 a.m. to install a bridge section)

Monday, Jan. 17 to Friday, Jan. 21
11 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Lower World Way full closure (all traffic pushed to single inner lane)
Midnight to 4 a.m.: Upper World Way full closure with detour

Sunday, Jan. 23 to Monday, Jan. 24
11 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Lower World Way full closure (all traffic pushed to single inner lane)
Midnight to 4 a.m.: Upper World Way full closure with detour
