TERMINAL 1 MODERNIZATION PROJECT
The proposed project includes reconfiguring the existing terminal uses to improve passenger services and amenities, better accommodate security requirements, and improve curbside circulation. Additional components include an addition to the building square footage; modifications of the gates, including an overall reduction of one gate (from 15 gates to 14); upgrading existing mechanical systems and infrastructure; interior improvements; and potential upgrades to the exterior façade.
The project site is within the eastern portion of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), within the existing Terminal 1 located within the airport’s Central Terminal Area. Related construction staging activities would occur on other airport property
