John Carver sits on the Executive Committee for Los Angeles World Airports. LAWA is responsible for the management and operations of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Van Nuys Airport (VNY) and Palmdale Airport. With over 80 million passengers a year, LAX is currently the fourth busiest airport in the world and one of the fastest growing air cargo airports in North America. LAWA is involved today in what are viewed to be the largest public works projects in the history of Los Angeles, an over $13 billion capital improvement program. This ambitious collection of projects are aimed at modernizing LAX’s transportation network and to otherwise prepare the airport to meet future growth, now expected to exceed 100 million passengers a year, all with an eye towards the City’s hosting of the 2028 Olympics. John has direct responsibility for a number of LAWA projects underway, including the development of LAX Northside, one of the last undeveloped parcels in LAWA’s asset portfolio. In addition, John leads the development team responsible for carrying out a new and integrated air cargo complex to meet the growing demands of LAX’s cargo customers. John also leads a LAWA Task Force on Emergency Power Readiness to help LAX develop a tactical and strategic plan to insure energy resiliency in the event of an unforeseen power loss.

John is a native of California and a graduate from the Marshall School of Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He and his wife, Kathy, reside in Hermosa Beach, CA.
