Becca Doten serves as the Chief of Staff, which includes serving as a strategic counsel to the CEO and overseeing executive and Board administration and leadership over the Department's external affairs functions, including Government Relations, Marketing & Communications, and Community Relations, as well as the Strategic Initiatives Division, which is leading the coordination and preparation for FIFA 2026 and the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Ms. Doten joined LAWA in July of 2017 as the Director of Public Relations. She has also served as the Chief Airport Affairs Officer, Deputy Executive Director for Public & Government Affairs and was the interim Chief Corporate Strategy and Affairs Officer. During her tenure, she has directed the communications and media response to many high-profile events, including the launch of a Terminal Wellness Pilot program, the opening of LAX-it, LAWA’s internal and external communications strategy in response to the COVID-19 crisis, and messaging around LAWA’s $14.5B modernization program. A member of the LAWA Executive Committee, she works across divisions to create strategic communications, community outreach and government affairs plans and works with her colleagues to amplify Departmental wins and trouble shoot issues. Ms. Doten brings with her more than a decade of experience in communications, community relations and public policy at the city, county and state level. Originally from Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Ms. Doten earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in film production from the University of Southern California.
