LAWA's Vanpool Program consists of 7 and 8-passenger vans, driven by volunteer employee drivers. Vanpools leave from one central location on the home end and travel to a central destination on the work end. LAWA Vanpool Program participants pay a monthly fare based on their commute miles. The monthly fare covers all vehicle leasing and fuel costs, and LAWA provides an employee discount of $60 per month for LAWA and City of Los Angeles participants. Airport tenant employees and members of the public are also allowed to take advantage of this program, as long as there are seats available in the van. Qualifying vans traveling to L.A. County worksites are also able to receive a discount for participating in the Metro Vanpool Program.
LAWA's Vanpool Program alone saves over 1.5 million commute miles per year, and countless hours spent on Southern California's overburdened freeways. Our Vanpool Program currently serves Los Angeles International Airport.
Here's how to join the Vanpool program:
- Check out the vanpool listing here and if there are any vans that match your schedule and pick-up/drop-off location, provide the vanpool numbers to Rideshare. Current listing of LAWA Vanpools include Pick-Up location, Pick-Up Time, Drop-off Time, Drop-off Location, and Work Schedule. Rideshare will review and see if a space is available on the vanpool(s) of interest and notify you if you are placed in a vanpool or on any waitlists.
- Complete the Vanpool Application (here) and LAWA employees sign a Payroll Deduction Authorization card (here). Email the Payroll Deduction Authorization card to rideshareinfo@lawa.org, or drop off at Rideshare Office at 7301 World Way West, 2nd Floor, or the Skyview Office at 6053 Century Blvd, 4th Floor. Non-LAWA employees can pay fares online or by check.
- A copy of the Vanpool Policy will be sent to the participant’s email address.
