Runway 6R-24L & Taxiway Y Continuous Closure for Construction Activities

Start: October 07, 2024 at 0030 PDT

Complete: October 09, 2024 at 1230 PDT

(Pacific Daylight Time)

Runway 6R-24L and Taxiway Y between Runway 6L-24R and Taxiway E are scheduled to close for 60 hours starting on Monday, October 07, 2024 at 0030 PDT through Wednesday, October 09, 2024 at 1230 PDT.

This runway and taxiway closure is required to support removal and replacement of taxiway centerline lights on Runway 24L at Taxiway Y for the North Airfield Exit Taxiways (NAET) Project.

Please note that Taxiway Y will not be an available taxiway exit for aircraft landing on Runway 24R during the Runway 24L and Taxiway Y closure timeframe. Taxiways R, T, U, V, W and Z will remain open for crossing aircraft traffic.

Runways 6L-24R, 7L-25R, and 7R-25L will remain open, with the exception of nightly Runway 6L-24R closures 0030-0630 PDT for routine maintenance activities.

Airlines that operate ADG VI type aircraft (A380 and B747-8) can expect arrivals to Runway 24R or Runway 25L while Runway 24L is closed. Expect Runway 25L for ADG VI departures while Runway 24L is closed.

Please forward this LAX Operations Advisory to flight planning dispatchers, pilots, and airline staff.
Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) will be issued 72 hours prior to the closure. Please plan flight operations accordingly and check current NOTAMs at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch for current airfield operating conditions.
