Jeremiah Chiu is a Los Angeles-via-Chicago artist and musician working with Chicago’s venerable International Anthem Recording Co., who released his solo record In Electric Time and his duo record with Marta Sofia Honer, Recordings from the Åland Islands, to critical acclaim. His compositions blend electronic music with experimental sound art, showcased in site-specific projects such as Smartphone Symphony and A Piano Cannot Play a Sine Wave. Chiu's multidisciplinary approach extends to graphic design and teaching at Art Center College of Design. His diverse portfolio has been performed at prestigious venues including The Getty Center and LACMA, while also encompassing literary contributions like his book Ou(te)r Space: Course as Collective Manifesto released in 2020. Most recently, he has toured with Sam Prekop & John McEntire, Mary Lattimore, and was the opener for M83 on their U.S. Fantasy Tour.
Marta Sofia Honer, based in Los Angeles, is recognized for her prowess as a viola and violin performer in both classical and contemporary realms. Her collaborations span across renowned artists such as Beyoncé, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Chloe x Halle, Angel Olsen, Fleet Foxes, and four Grammy-nominated projects. She regularly records for film and television, including scores for The Good Place, Promising Young Woman, Deadly Illusions and Star Trek: Lower Decks. As a chamber musician, Honer participated in the industry’s experimental opera production Sweet Land and is a regular member of Sonic Open Orchestra, who recently recorded Gavin Bryar’s The Sinking of the Titanic. Alongside performing and recording, Honer is a faculty member at California State University, Los Angeles.
